Pair Vintage Dual Head Large Angel Cherubs Chalkware Plaster Beautiful Victorian. Dual Head & Winnged Angel Cherubs are probably some of the nicest Chalkware pieces I have seen of this size. These came from an old Victorian Home here in Central New England. These are not hollow backs but solid and have a good weight to each one. If you look close at the backs they look to have never been hung and were stored in something that is why they look so good. The good thing about Chalkware(Plaster of Paris)is it will not attract mold/odors. If you look close at the hanging cables on the back you can see some old age corrosion and in reality these cables wouldn’t turn to much any how as they look to be of a Galvanized metal-which for the most part-will resist corrosion. These Cherubs also fit the description of early produced Chalkware as they have pource surfaces in places and most of all have a Folk Gaudy look that the early pieces tended to be. Both also have a matte painted finish. I took pictures of every suface so you can visually see the condition of these absolutely beautiful pieces. These are roughly 12″ inches tall by 10″ to 11″ inches wide and they will be about 5″ to 5&1/2 inches high from back to face fronts. They each have very respectible weights-one weights in at 11 pounds while the other weights in at 13 pounds. I don’t see any Repairs. They have some production flaws here and their but then again that is Chalkware. Plaster build up and little nubs in places etc. Please study all 16 pictures for a good visual description.
